ANDERSON, Ind. – Vice President Mike Pence spoke to a crowd in Anderson, Indiana Friday on the need for tax reform and health care.

Pence, who also spoke with families and business leaders while in the Hoosier State, gave his speech at the Flagship Enterprise Center.

A main highlight of Pence’s speech was the Graham Cassidy health care bill, which Republicans plan to use to repeal and replace Obamacare.

The bill, put forth by Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, would give states health care funding and the freedom to spend it how they choose. It would also eliminate Medicaid expansion, tax credits and employer mandates.

“Trump and I firmly believe the Graham Cassidy bill is the right bill at the right time to repeal and replace Obamacare,” said Pence. “Graham Cassidy will give Indiana even more freedom and flexibility and build the best possible health-insurance system.”

Pence was also joined by Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb, Sen. Joe Donnelly, Congresswoman Susan Brooks, Congressman Luke Messer and Congressman Todd Rokita.

He said since Trump has been in office, the economy has grown 3 percent.

“Under the president’s leadership, we’re going to put more money in the American people’s pockets – we’re going to put our job creator back on the road to success – and President Donald Trump will sign a historic tax cut that will once again put American workers and the American economy first,” Pence said.
