LAWRENCE, Ind. - A housekeeper at a Motel 6t7 in Lawrence found a man's body inside a room Saturday, police said.
Just before 11:30 a.m., a housekeeper called police after she found an unresponsive man lying on the bed inside a room at the hotel in the 11000 block of Pendleton Pike.
The housekeeper said she knocked on the door several times and she entered after no one answered.
When police arrived, they pronounced the man, identified as Jay Presser, 45, of Lapel, dead at the scene. His cause of death was not immediately released.
Detectives said the last person to be in contact with Presser may have been a woman seen leaving the property on the motel's surveillance video.
Police were able to identify the woman, but few other details were released.
The cause of death was still undetermined and police said more information would be released as they continued their investigation.
