COLUMBUS, Ind. - A Columbus man has been arrested 20 times in 2012.
Police arrested Joseph L. Nichols, 46, on Tuesday and preliminarily charged him with public intoxication and resisting arrest.
Columbus police said Nichols' arrest Tuesday marks the 16th alcohol-related arrest this year. Nichols was arrested four other times this year on outstanding warrants, police said.
Nichols was arrested Tuesday after someone called police to report suspected car break-ins, police said.
The responding officer found Nichols, who told the officer he'd been drinking for two consecutive days, police said.
Nichols was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital and released, police said.
