A Johnson County, Ind. man arrested last week will face more severe charges after the 2-month-old he is accused of battering died.

Jamison Hendley was arrested Oct. 2 after investigators interviewed him about the injuries of 2-month-old Braelyn Hendley. He was preliminarily charged with neglect of a dependent and aggravated battery.

Autumn Grissom arrived at the house in Franklin where Braelyn and Jamison lived around midnight and found Braelyn wasn't breathing right.

Grissom told Jamison she was taking Braelyn to the hospital and Jamison said he wasn't going with her, police said.

Once the child got to Johnson Memorial, she was airlifted to Riley Hospital. At Riley, it was found the child had injuries consistent with abuse, including arm and leg bruises, seizures, brain injury, retinal bleeding and retinal detachment.

Braelyn died at Riley Sunday at 4:47 p.m.

The prosecutors office will review the investigation and determine what charges are appropriate.
