GREENWOOD, Ind. -- A man was hurt when another man hit him in the face with the butt of a shotgun early Sunday morning in Greenwood.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says they were dispatched around 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning to the 5000 block of Olive Branch Road for report of a forced entry into a residence.

The resident there told deputies that a man from the west side of Indianapolis named "Chad" or "C-Low" had forcibly entered his home, accusing the victim of stealing his car.

Once "Chad" entered the home, the two struggled, Chad took a shotgun from behind the home's front door and fled. The victim chased after him into the driveway, where he says Chad struck him in the face with the stock of the shotgun.

When deputies arrived at the residence, they noted the victim had blood all over his face and head. Deputies noted a baseball bat in a garden bed that the victim said did not belong to him, and a large hole to the left of the door that was consistent with a shotgun blast.

The victim told deputies that he believes there were three men in total that drove from the home in a small truck or SUV, two-tone brown in color. Deputies were reviewing dashcam footage to see if they caught the possible vehicle before they were called to the scene.

Deputies said they were provided "Chad's" cellphone number from the victim's own cellphone contact list, but do not have any leads on his whereabouts, or any further information to release about the suspect.
