INDIANAPOLIS - A man died early Thursday after he was rescued from his burning home on the city's north side.
Just after 4 p.m. Wednesday, Indianapolis Fire Department crews said a fire broke out at a home in the 7500 block of Brackenwood Circle.
An unconscious man suffering from smoke inhalation and burns was pulled from the home. He was rushed to St. Vincent Hospital in critical condition where he later died.
Crews battled the blaze for more than 30 minutes before finally gaining control. Investigators said the fire caused an estimated $100,000 in damages.
The victim's identity was not immediately released and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
