INDIANAPOLIS - A man is recovering Tuesday evening after getting shot several times and getting up the strength to drive himself to the hospital, police confirmed.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) said just before 2 p.m. officers were called to a home at 34th and Clifton streets on the city’s northwest side.
Officers said a man at that location had been shot six times, all in “non-crucial” areas.
IMPD said the man didn’t wait around for an ambulance. Instead, he drove himself to Wishard Hospital to get treatment for his wounds.
Police said they are investigating the incident as aggravated assault, not homicide.
