INDIANAPOLIS - A man was found dead near a day care on Indianapolis' east side Friday, police said.
The man's body was found just before 8 a.m. near a home day care in the 3500 block of Roseway Drive.
Homicide detectives said it was too early to confirm how the man died, although dispatchers originally told RTV6 that the man had been shot.
Police said children at the nearby day care were not in danger.
"There is an in home day care located down the block from where the body was located," said Indianapolis police spokesman Officer Michael Hewitt.
