DUBOIS COUNTY, Ind. -- One man was seriously injured after his helicopter crashed in a bean field in Dubois County Saturday morning.

The crash happened about a quarter of a mile south of 6720 West County Road 450 North just before 11 a.m.

Indiana State Police say Keith Windsor, 42, of Charlestown, was crop dusting in a single-occupant helicopter just northwest of Ireland when the aircraft went down.

Windsor was able to get out of the helicopter before it caught fire. He was flown by Air Methods medical helicopter to Saint Vincent Evansville Hospital where he was treated for a broken leg and chest pains.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Dubois County Sheriff's Department and the Federal Aviation Administration.
