Man pleads guilty to shooting K-9 officer, robbing Anderson bank

ANDERSON, Ind. - A man who was arrested after robbing a bank and shooting a K-9 officer in August pleaded guilty to the crimes Tuesday.
Joseph Turner pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including armed robbery, criminal recklessness, resisting law enforcement and striking a law enforcement animal.
Turner robbed the PNC Bank in the 2900 block of Nichol Avenue in Anderson then fled the bank on a bicycle on Aug. 18.
Anderson police called the K-9 unit in to track Turner, and the K-9 Magnum tracked him to a field.
When police released Magnum into the field to track Turner, the suspect shot the dog in the face.
Magnum was rushed to emergency surgery, but he did not recover and was euthanized Aug. 20.
Turner will be sentenced Feb. 5.
