INDIANAPOLIS - A man told police he was held at knifepoint and forced to strip during a robbery downtown Monday night.

The 21-year-old told police he was walking in an alley south of East 10th Street near the English Ivy Tavern just before 11 p.m. when a man attacked him from behind, punching him in the head.

The assailant pulled a knife and called the victim, who is black, by a racial slur, the man told police.

The victim handed over his wallet, but the assailant put the knife to the man's neck, demanding he take off all his clothes, the victim said.

The victim, who was left standing in only his socks, told police the assailant ran away with his clothes and two cell phones, but left his wallet behind.

The victim then went to a friend's house nearby and called police.

No suspect information was provided Tuesday.
