INDIANAPOLIS -
A man trying to escape police in a stolen car was injured early Wednesday after he crashed into a utility pole.
Police said the suspect stole the car from a gas station.
He tried to escape, but soon lost control of the car and crashed into a pole near the intersection 25 th Street and Sherman Drive.
The suspect was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
Both lanes of Sherman Drive were shut down as crews worked to clear the scene.
