INDIANAPOLIS - A man was seriously injured early Monday in a house fire on the city's west side.
The blaze sparked about 3:30 a.m. in the 300 block of South Holmes Avenue.
As crews battled the fire, the flames quickly spreading to at least one other home.
Dispatchers said one man was pulled from the house. He was badly burned and rushed to Wishard Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
Crews worked for more than 3 hours to gain control of the fire before finally dousing the flames.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
