GAS CITY, Ind. - A man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested Saturday, hours after a woman was found slain in a Grant County home.
Indiana State Police said Tyrell Lenoir, 23, and Matthew Tyra, 17, both of Marion, were arrested in the killing of Ashley Ream, 28.
Police said Rheam called the Gas City Police Department a little after 5:30 a.m. Saturday to report that her home had been burglarized, that some electronic items were missing and that the back door of her home had been kicked in.
"Officers took a report and cleared the house, but they did not locate any suspects," ISP Sgt. Tony Slocum said in a news release. "At approximately 10:40 a.m., Rheam's roommate arrived home and found her body."
Police asked for help from the public to find a 1993 Cadillac Eldorado that had been taken from the home. It was found abandoned on the northeast side of Marion, police said.
Lenoir and Tyra were arrested on charges of murder and robbery. Both were being held without bond Sunday morning.
Officials did not release details regarding what led them to make the arrests. The Grant County Prosecutor's Office said Tyra will be charged as an adult.
Police asked anyone with information to call ISP at 800-382-0689.
