INDIANAPOLIS - A man wanted in three shootings and the theft of a high-powered rifle has been arrested.

Harold Bishop, who is also known as Balagoon Sankoffa and Zimbabwe Sancoffe, was arrested Wednesday in Boone County and was turned over to Indianapolis police.

Police said Bishop may have been involved in the fatal shooting of Khalfani Shabazz, 51, who died earlier this month in a shooting in the 3800 block of North Winthrop Avenue, near the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Bishop is also wanted for questioning in a shooting on the city's northwest side in which William Cullens, 45, was seriously injured, and a shooting and fire at a home in the 3700 block of Forest Manor Avenue that left two people injured.

After the shootings, police believe Bishop held a shopper at gunpoint outside a Columbus Walmart and stole the rifle he had just purchased.

More information about Bishop's arrest was expected to be released Wednesday afternoon.
