FRANKLIN, Ind. -- A man was revived three times by emergency personnel after the ATV he was riding crashed in Johnson County Tuesday night.

Indiana Conservation Officers say John Taylor, 48, was riding an ATV near the 3000 block of North Graham Road, when he fell into a culvert, flipping end-over-end twice. When the ATV landed, it was on top of him.

Emergency crews arrived on the scene and found Taylor with no pulse. Medics from the Franklin Fire Department performed CPR on Taylor, and revived him.

He was then lifelined to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

While in the helicopter, Taylor's heart stopped twice and he was brought back both times.

As of early Wednesday morning, he was in critical condition. He had multiple fractured vertebrae.

Taylor was not wearing any protective equipment at the time of the crash. Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors.
