Marion Co. inmate found unresponsive in holding cell in City-County Building

INDIANAPOLIS -- A Marion County jail inmate is in critical condition after being found unresponsive Tuesday inside a court holding cell in the City-County Building.

Thomas Miles, 26, is awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania to face charges of possession of a controlled substance.

He had been in custody in Marion County since August 23, according to jail spokesperson Katie Carlson.

“An investigation into the circumstances is being conducted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office,” said Carlson.

Carlson said Miles was found unresponsive at 11:15 am Tuesday morning.
