CENTER TOWNSHIP, Ind. – Those in need of a little extra help will find several services, like food vouchers, at the Center Township Trustee’s Office.

Staff members said they help about 100 people per month, but want more people to take advantage of their services that include rental assistance, utility bill payments, household cleaning supplies, and school clothing for children, among others.

Trustee’s office workers said they help those who may have been laid off, those who have experienced loss and other difficult situations.

“I'm not just here because I'm not working and you know, I actually do have a job,” said Sharece Green. “I'm just on medical leave right now, so that's my biggest problem. I don't know what I would have done if they didn't help me. I would have been probably homeless on the street somewhere, you know. So I'm thankful they are here with these services.”

Eligibility requirements and certain conditions need to be met to receive assistance.

Those in need of help should bring basic proof of income, receipts of how income is spent, social security cards for everyone in the household, and a picture ID.
