MARION COUNTY, Ind. -- An investigation is underway after an inmate at the Marion County Jail was found dead in his cell on Tuesday night.
Jail officials say Brian Wickelhaus, 43, was found unresponsive around 9:30 p.m. and declared deceased at 10:15 p.m.
In addition to the death investigation, an internal affairs investigation is also being conducted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
According to officials, Wickelhaus had been at the Marion County Jail since his arrest on July 25, 2018. He was being held on charges of battery and domestic battery.
