Marion woman shot in home break-in

Victim listed in stable condition

MARION, Ind. - A Marion woman says she was shot today after a masked man and woman broke into her home.

The victim told police she was at home on the 1000 blcok of West 10th Street with her child just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday when a man and woman wearing masks broke into her home through the back door. The male suspect shot her in the leg after a struggle when she tried to call 911.

At that point, she says, both suspects fled the house on foot.

The victim was taken to Marion General Hospital before being transferred to a Fort Wayne hospital in stable condition.
