INDIANAPOLIS -- Millions of people will be traveling over the Memorial Day weekend – many doing so by getting behind the wheel.

Denika Fingers' family is packed up and ready to make the four-hour drive to a family reunion.

They are one of countless families hitting the road for the holiday.

AAA projects the second-busiest travel period for a Memorial Day ever, with 700,000 more people traveling than a year ago.

Car experts say taking a few extra minutes could save you big time.

If you're traveling by plane this weekend, know that security will be ramped up in anticipation of the extra passengers.

Right now, the Indianapolis International Airport is expecting Memorial Day to be its second-busiest day ever as well. Close to 18,000 passengers will be departing then.

The only time the airport saw more passengers was the day following the 2012 Super Bowl.
