Mom, toddlers sent to hospital after grocery store parking lot crash

All involved expected to be OK

INDIANAPOLIS - A mother and her twin toddlers were taken to the hospital after a van drove on top of their SUV in a grocery store parking lot Wednesday.

The manager at the Marsh store in the 1400 block of West 86th Street said he called 911 when customers ran into the store screaming that there'd been an accident.

Officials said it appears that a woman driving a Chrysler minivan mistakenly hit the gas instead of the brake while parking in the store's lot.

The Chrysler ended up on two wheels on top of a Honda CR-V and a Toyota minivan.

Both the Toyota and the Honda were occupied at the time of the crash, officials said.

The woman in the CR-V had just finished putting her twin 3-year-old sons into their car seats in the back of the vehicle and was getting into the driver's seat when the Chrysler drove on top of the Honda.

The mom and her boys are expected to be OK, but they were sent to the hospital to be checked out.

The woman driving the Chrysler was being treated at the scene.

The woman in the Toyota did not sustain any injuries, and she was able to help the mom and kids inside the Honda.
