INDIANAPOLIS -- More than 20,000 people were without power at one point Friday after a strong storm that produced a Tornado Warning plowed through Marion County.

The largest concentration of outages is in the Broad Ripple area. IPL still reported 3,000 outages across the city on Saturday.

Other outages were reported on the northeast and east side of the city.

The storms fired up around 8:30 a.m., producing a Tornado Warning after a funnel cloud was spotted by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers, and again at the evening rush hour, when storms dumped several inches of rain in just an hour or two.

Several trees were knocked to the ground by strong winds.
