INDIANAPOLIS -- A motorcyclist was killed Monday night in a rear-end collision with a semi-truck.

Witnesses told police a man was driving eastbound on a motorcycle on 38^th Street near Lafayette Square when he lost his hat.

He apparently turned around to look at the same time he was accelerating and changing lanes, causing him to rear-end a semi-truck.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi driver wasn't seriously injured.
