INDIANAPOLIS - The superintendent of the Metropolitan School District of Decatur Township announced her plans to retire at the end of the school year.
Debbie Sullivan made the announcement at the MSD Decatur Township school board meeting Tuesday night. School board president Dale Henson praised Sullivan for her leadership and dedicated service to the district over the past 28 years.
Sullivan began her career as an elementary school teacher. She said the teachers under her administration will continue to lead students to have bright futures.
"After a great deal of thought and for personal reasons, I have made the decision to retire at the end of this school year. I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to spend my career in Decatur Township," she said.
Sullivan said she plans to retire June 30, 2013.
