Multiple injuries reported in two-car crash on NE side

No injuries appear to be life-threatening

INDIANAPOLIS - Crews were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle accident on the city’s northeast side Monday afternoon.

The accident happened near East 46th Street and North Edmondson Avenue, near North Shadeland Avenue, just after 3:30 p.m., officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.

Officials reported at least seven people were injured, but none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

Police said a Kia Sorento was traveling northbound on Edmondson Avenue and the driver did not stop for a stop sign.

The Kia was hit by a pickup truck that was traveling eastbound on East 46th Street, officials said.

Six people in the pickup truck and one person in the Kia were injured and taken by ambulance to Indianapolis hospitals.
