INDIANAPOLIS -- Three people were shot during the funeral procession for a recent murder victim at a cemetery on Indianapolis' north side.

The shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. in the area of Temple Avenue and Millersville Road at the Sutherland Park Cemetery, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

The funeral was for Jasmine Moore, the woman who was shot and killed outside of Long's Bakery earlier this month. Her funeral was scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.

Officers said as Moore's casket was being drawn by a horse carriage, there was an eruption of gunfire.

“It was a very beautiful memorial after the horse and carriage carrying Jasmine Grundy – gunshots rang out," said Tasha. "I remember hearing six gunshots. People were scattering, blood on the street. They turned something that was a memorial into a tragedy that we’ve all faced before in this area. We just want to have peace in the streets."

Police say they found a female victim at the scene and two other victims showed up at the hospital. They were listed in stable condition.

Call 6 Investigates learned Richard Grundy III, the alleged leader of the 'Grundy Crew' gang was shot multiple times during the funeral shooting.

Grundy received multiple gun shot wounds to the right arm, torso and leg area and was rushed to the hospital and into surgery, according to Call 6 Investigates sources.

He is currently listed as stable. Sources said Richard Grundy III had a $50,000 bounty on his head during the incident.

Officers said at least 20 gun casing were found and bullets struck homes and vehicles.

Thursday night, Rev. Charles Harrison of the Indy Ten Point Coalition released a statement on the incident:

Today we witnessed another senseless act of violence in our community. The shooting of three individuals during a funeral procession was a heinous act that cannot be tolerated. We simply cannot sacrifice our streets and community to this kind of irrational behavior.
We encourage all who may have witnessed this crime or have information regarding it, to contact IMPD and share what you know. We also call upon our community to stand committed and united in our continual fight against violence on the streets of Indianapolis.
Remember the adage "an eye for an eye leaves both men blind." Let's work together for peace in our city!

The shooting remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
