INDIANAPOLIS -- Neighbors are still rattled by a double murder Wednesday on Indianapolis' northeast side.

The bodies of Mack Taylor, 23, and Alexander Brown, 24, were found by family and friendsnear an abandoned home in the 2900 block of Gladstone Avenue.

RTV6 was there and captured some emotional video as the bodies were discovered.

Nasha Williams was friends with Taylor, " I mean it just like why would somebody do him like that, nobody deserves to die like that."

People who live in the area are familiar with crime, but this cause gives them pause.

"It's upsetting. This neighborhood is kinda messed up. We need more police, really 24 hours a day. Stuff goes down starting at 11 pm- 12 pm goes on until 4 in the morning," said Wayne Day, who lives a block away from the crime scene.

A candlelight vigil is behind held for Taylor and Brown on Saturday, September 17 at 7:30 p.m., at the parking lot for Church of Glory, 3247 Forest Manor Ave.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Chief Troy Rigs walked the neighborhood Thursday morning to talk to neighbors and offer reassurance.  Riggs did not mince words about the possible motive for the killings.

"It would not surprise me if it is drug related. Here is how individuals can safeguard themselves. If they see someone who is involved in a drug transaction, if they see a home that is involved in selling drugs, give us a call. You are not only stopping drug trade, but you might be saving someone's life, or an individuals' life," said Riggs.

Indianapolis is on pace for one of its deadliest years ever.  We reached 100 homicides faster than any other year in the past 20 years.
