NEW ALBANY, Ind. - A 14-year-old's status update on Facebook led to his grandfather being arrested on battery and drug charges.

The New Albany boy used Facebook to get in touch with his aunt to alert her that he was being held against his will, police said.

The boy's aunt called police, who went to the home and arrested James Ross, 56.

The News and Tribune reports officers seized nearly 40 firearms and about five pounds of marijuana from a safe in Ross' home.

Ross was preliminarily charged with battery of a juvenile resulting in bodily injury, strangulation and drug charges.
