INDIANAPOLIS -- If you're looking for another downtown Indianapolis lunch option, there's a new local cafe that opens Monday.

MOFOCO (formerly Monon Food Company) is located at 72 W. New York St. It is open from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. weekdays.

The new restaurant specializes in tacos, but also has sandwiches, mac and cheese and burgers.

“When I was living on the West Coast, I made it my mission to find the perfect fish taco,” Owner Tim Williams said in a release. “I began to explore using fresh and healthy ingredients, combining distinctive flavors and fusing them together for impeccable taste. The result was one of MOFOCO’s best-selling tacos: T’s Chipotle, which is seared cod with a chipotle aioli, pico, cabbage and guacamole. This fusion of West Coast flavor and Midwest comfort is the signature of MOFOCO.”

The location was formerly occupied by The Great Steak and Potato Company.

MOFOCO already has a Broad Ripple location at 6420 Cornell Ave.
