A new run is coming to Indianapolis and it's got more than just mile-to-mile checkpoints.

The Indy Ultimate Run is about six miles from start to finish.

That's miles and miles of winding adventures taking you to and through city monuments and cultural icons.

"We're just asking people to keep an 18 minute mile pace,” said Ryan Vaughn, President of the Indiana Sports Corp., the group that’s bringing the urban adventure race to town.

"You can really do it either way. Slow and steady and enjoy what you're doing or vigorous and run through and earn your championship,” Vaughn said, "The event is April 30 so it's coming up on us sooner than you think so get out there and start running and working on your skills now."

The run will take participants to about a dozens stops where they’ll face challenges similar to what professional athletes do out on the court or field.

Some of the stops include the Indy Monument, Bankers Life, Victory Field, and  Lucas Oil Stadium.

You can watch a tour of the race in the video player above.

The race cap is set at the first 3,000 runners to sign up on the Indy Ultimate website.
