INDIANAPOLIS -- There are no bull sharks in Geist Reservoir.
In case you saw a story on your Facebook page, it's simply not true. The rumor originates from a story from breakingnews365.net, which is a website where you can literally type your own headline and story and write a news story to "prank your friends."
The fake story has been shared on Facebook more than 10,000 times.
The story says a 10-foot bull shark was seen in Cocktail Cove of Geist Reservoir, and that "experienced shark hunters" will be attempting to catch it.
That shark gets around. There are similar fake stories of a bull shark found in Lake Tippecanoe and in Kentucky Lake.
Remember to always double-check your source before you share something on Facebook.
