NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – Tuesday night, Noblesville school officials say there’s no way around it. If voters don’t support renewing a referendum, as many as 150 positions will have to be cut.

Noblesville Schools first passed a referendum with a 21.15-cent tax rate in 2010. It expires in 2017.

The referendum renewal on the ballot asks voters for less money and has a 18.9-cent tax rate attached to it. The vote to support it is on May 3.

What does that mean for average homeowners (with a home value of $173,500)? You have been paying about $170 extra a year.

If the referendum renewal passes, you will be paying about $150 extra in taxes a year.

Noblesville homeowners can calculate exactly what the referendum will cost them right here.
