Noblesville police look for battery, burglary suspect

Cops: Female victim was assaulted during incident

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. - Police in Noblesville are looking for a suspect connected to a battery and burglary incident that occurred early Sunday morning.

The Noblesville Police Department responded to the 14000 block of Mourning Dove Lane before noon, but the caller indicated the incident took place nine hours earlier at 2 a.m., police said.

Police said a female subject indicated that she walked out of her apartment  to retrieve an item from her vehicle which was parked outside her apartment door, a media release said.

She said she returned to her apartment and as she was ready to close her front door, she was confronted by the burglary suspect in her doorway and he forced his way in.

The female told police that she was threatened with a handgun and was forced to the floor, the release said.

She was able to defend herself until she could force the suspect off of her, police said.

Police said the suspect fled the apartment by way of the front door and has not yet been identified or located.

He was described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet and 180 to 220 pounds, the release said.

The media release said he had a muscular build and wore a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a black ski mask.

The victim received minor injuries as a result of the attack but refused medical attention, the release said.
