INDIANAPOLIS – A fire burned down a vacant home and damaged two neighboring homes Sunday morning on Indy’s north side.

Indianapolis firefighters were called to 2106 College Avenue after a fire broke out shortly after 7:30 a.m.

The home was reported to be vacant and possibly under construction, but the fire damaged two other homes at 2116 College Avenue and 2122 College Avenue.

All of those inside the neighboring homes were able to escape the fire and police said they are OK.

Witnesses said the fire could be seen for miles.

More than 100 firefighters were on scene and battled the fire for more than an hour and a half.

IFD Battalion Chief Scott Olofson said damage to all three structures estimate at $250,000.

Firefighters have not found what caused the fire.
