Not so loving: Police say man shot girlfriend on Valentine's Day

INDIANAPOLIS - Instead of flowers and candy, police said an Indianapolis woman received a trip to the hospital from her boyfriend early Valentine's Day morning.

Indianapolis Police Metropolitan Department (IMPD) dispatchers said it happened just after 7:30 a.m. near 16th Street and Sherman Drive.

Police said a woman was shot by her boyfriend and she was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

There is no word yet on the victim's identity or whether the shooter was arrested and jailed.
