Notre Dame students in London during terror attack

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- More than 160 University of Notre Dame students who are studying in London are safe followinga terrorist attack Wednesday near British Parliament.

Four people, including the attacker, were killed.  At least 20 others were hurt.

The suspect ran down pedestrians with a car on Westminster Bridge and then stabbed to death an armed police officer inside the gates of Parliament before being fatally shot by police.

Notre Dame says nine of the 167 students were serving in internships with Parliament at the time of the attack.

The university's London Global Gateway program is based at Marian Kennedy Fischer Hall near Trafalgar Square.

A residential facility, Conway Hall, is located south of the River Thames near Waterloo Station and King's College London.
