Officer resigns after 2nd drunken driving arrest

INDIANAPOLIS - An Indianapolis police officer has resigned after his second arrest on drunken driving charges.

IMPD Officer Kevin Brown was arrested Monday morning in Morgan County on preliminary charges of operating while intoxicated and OWI with a prior conviction.
 
Officials said Brown was driving his marked police car while under the influence.
 
On Wednesday, RTV6 confirmed that Brown had turned in his gun and badge and resigned from his post.
 
Brown, who has been on the city's police force since 1998, was arrested in August 2013 on similar charges .
