INDIANAPOLIS -- Recent events in California and Paris have raised additional concerns for football fans, as thousands flock to Indianapolis for the Big Ten championship game this weekend.
Homeland Security officials say they understand the added concern for security, but that they're confident in their plan that's already underway.
Indianapolis Homeland Security Chief Gary Coons says his office has been analyzing the recent deadly attacks in California and Paris.
"We look at all of them," Coons said. "Even this one that just happened the other day. We still take a look at it to see if we do need to make an adjustment."
Coons said security will be better if fans are willing to speak up.
"I know everyone here has heard it since 9/11 and continues to hear it, but it does mean something," Coons said. "Things do get checked out."
In light of recent attacks, fans will see more officers on the ground around the stadium, Georgia Street and the convention center.
