SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. -- A woman was killed in a head-on crash in Shelby County Wednesday morning.

It happened around 10:00 a.m. near the intersection of SR 44 and Marietta Road.

A truck driven by Richard Barnett Jr., 51, of Franklin, was headed east when the vehicle went left of center and hit a dump truck, according to Louie Koch, Chief Deputy, Shelby County Sheriff's Department.

Dep. Koch says Barnett's truck then side-swiped another truck, a van, and then had a head-on collision with another van.

The driver of that van, Haley Wells, 29, of Shelbyville, died at the scene.  Her passenger, Jeremy Wells, 34, of Shelbyville, was treated at the scene along with four other drivers involved in the crash.
