INDIANAPOLIS - A person was taken into custody after a SWAT situation on the city’s east side Wednesday evening.
SWAT officers responded to a home in the 2700 block of North Dearborn Street before 8 p.m.
Police said there was a shooting earlier in the evening near 21st Street and Ritter Avenue, and a witness of the shooting followed the suspect to the home.
An officer said he witnessed the alleged gunman with two other people on the street -- and one person was holding an assault rifle.
Nobody was in the home, but police recovered the assault rifle from the home and took a person into custody.
