Three people killed in early morning house fire in Delaware County

UPDATE: According to Delaware County Coroner Richard Howell, the victims have been identified as Daniel Porter, 71, Kimberly Porter, 62, and their 17-year-old granddaughter, Irie O'Shea. Preliminary findings are that they died of smoke and soot inhalation, but an official cause of death has not yet been determined, Howell said. Family said funeral services for Irie O'Shea will be held Monday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Bloomington. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with funeral services starting at noon.

DELAWARE COUNTY — Three people are dead after a fire destroyed a home in Delaware County early Thursday morning.

Firefighters were called to the scene at a home in the 3900 block of N 800 W around 1:30 a.m.

Delaware County Coroner Rick Howell initially said one person was found dead inside the home after the fire was extinguished. Two additional bodies were later located by investigators.

Their identities have not been released at this time.

Howell said the bodies found were two females and a male. Their ages have not been identified at this time.

The fire remains under investigation by the Indiana State Fire Marshall.
