People living near Whitestown, Indiana will have a new employment opportunity opening up in December.

Vroom, an online pre-owned car retailing store, will be leasing a 501,120 square-foot facility to use as its second reconditioning and fulfillment center location.

“Whitestown strives to attract a different kind of company and Vroom brings a new, timely business model that we’re excited to be a part of,” Dax Norton, Whitestown’s town manager, said.

The company is expected to hire more than 200 people for the facility, at an average pay of $34 per hour. Vroom is leasing the former Subaru building on Indianapolis Road.

The facility will be used to recondition all the used cars before selling them. According to a release, Vroom has a 126-point inspection process to make sure the cars are in shape.

Vroom’s other facility is located near Dallas, Texas.

“Indiana stands out across the country as an automotive leader,” Indiana Governor Mike Pence said in a release. “Whether it’s our state’s auto assembly facilities, their hundreds of Hoosier suppliers or innovative companies like Vroom, cars and trucks across the United States keep finding their way through Indiana.”

None of the jobs have been formally posted as of yet.
