INDIANAPOLIS - Three people were in the hospital and a section of the city was without power after an SUV crashed into a power box early Saturday morning on the northeast side of Indianapolis, police confirmed.
Dispatchers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) said officers are investigating whether alcohol played a role in the wreck, which happened just before 1:30 a.m. near 38th Street and Emerson Avenue.
Two people were reportedly in critical condition at a hospital and another was stable.
Officials said the power was out in the area of 38th and Emerson because the SUV hit a power box.
Crews will have to rebuild the box, and dispatchers said the power won't be back up and running in that area until Tuesday or Wednesday.
