FISHERS, Ind. - Four people were arrested early Tuesday and a fifth suspect remained at large after an armed robbery at a gas station in Fishers, police said.
On Monday about 11:30 p.m., investigators said a white SUV pulled up to the Shell gas station at 96th Street and Allisonville Road. Three men wearing masks got out of the SUV and went in the store.
One of the men was carrying a rifle, police said.
The gas station cashier told police one of the suspects pointed the rifle at him before demanding cash and cigarettes. The employee complied and was not hurt, police said.
Through surveillance, police saw the suspects run from the store and jump back into the SUV.
Shortly after the holdup, police chased down the SUV in the 8700 block of Doral West Drive. Two women, a passenger and a driver, were taken into custody without incident. Three men jumped out of the SUV and ran from police. One man and a juvenile were tracked down and a third man, believed to be armed and dangerous, escaped, police said.
Police said 23-year-old Douglas Dennis, 19-year-old Mercedes Hamilton, 19-year-old Janea Waller, and a 17-year-old boy were taken to the Hamilton County Jail. All four suspects faced several felony charges including armed robbery and theft.
Detectives said they were working on getting a description of the suspect and that this was the second time in the past seven days that the gas station had been robbed.
Police asked anyone with information about the armed robbery to call Detective Rob Baker at 317-595-
