Pedestrian dies nearly 1 week after car hits her on Lafayette road

LAFAYETTE, Ind. - A 21-year-old Lafayette woman died after a car hit her while she was walking in a busy street on the city’s east side.
The Lafayette Police Department said at roughly 2:30 a.m. Oct. 15, Braxton Hall, 18, of Tippecanoe County, was driving a passenger vehicle on Creasy Lane near Fortune Drive when he hit a pedestrian.
Investigators said the woman, Rachel J. Williams, 21, had been walking in the left lane of southbound Creasy Lane. She was taken to Franciscan St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette. Police said Williams died Oct. 22 from her injuries from the crash.
Hall, the driver, was reportedly not ticketed or injured.
