INDIANAPOLIS - Emergency crews responded Tuesday afternoon to a pedestrian who was hit by a car that fled the scene and left the man in critical condition.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) said just after 1 p.m., officers headed to the area of 18th and Sheldon streets and found an unresponsive man lying in the street.
Update at 9:25 p.m.: IMPD has identified the victim as Michael Roberston, 59, of Indianapolis.
IMPD said the man was transported to Wishard Hospital in extremely critical condition, and as of 9:30 p.m. he was still in critical condition.
IMPD detectives said witnesses gave information that quickly led to a person of interest in the hit-and-run case. Officers said a 1998 green four-door Chevrolet Malibu with the Indiana license plate “OFP531” was seen leaving the area of the crash. That vehicle is reportedly registered to Felicia Moss.
IMPD detectives want anyone with information regarding Moss to contact Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477) or call the IMPD Crash Unit at 317-327-6197.
