INDIANAPOLIS - A pedestrian died Saturday night after being hit by a truck, police said.
Indianapolis Metro Police were called to 32nd Street and Shadeland Avenue just after 10 p.m. after reports of a pedestrian hit by a car.
The victim, later identified as Charles Hardister, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck remained on the scene and cooperated with police, telling them he didn't see the victim.
Investigators said they don't believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
Police said the area where the crash occurred is not well-lit, and the victim was wearing dark clothing. It's not clear why the victim was in the street.
Per state law, the driver of the truck was taken for a blood draw.
