Pedestrian struck, killed in hit-and-run on Indy's northeast side, police looking for dark Buick

INDIANAPOLIS – A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday evening in a hit-and-run crash on the city’s northeast side.

According to a released from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, a 27-year-old man was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of 38th Street and Franklin Road while crossing the street around 10 p.m.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses say they saw him walking against the light when he was hit. 

Police are searching for a dark-colored (possibly red or maroon) Buick LaCrosse with front-end and windshield damage. 

The name of the victim has not been released.
