RICHMOND, Ind. -- School is cool when you can turn a perfect attendance into a brand new car.
That's exactly what happened for a Richmond High School senior who was selected out of 76 Wayne County students with perfect attendance for the new car.
Brandon Gentry not only had perfect attendance this year – he's had it for nine straight years.
Gentry is the latest winner of a program that began eight years ago thanks to the Wetzel Auto Group. In all, nearly $150,000 worth of scholarships have been given out. This year was the first time someone selected a car in lieu of a scholarship.
Gentry says he wants to be a doctor and plans to attend Indiana University East next year.
